Nyx

As Aurora continues to bake, I find myself drawn to her movements, the way she gracefully measures out ingredients and expertly mixes them. She insisted that I join her, despite my protests that I've never done any baking before. After all, as a God, my food simply appears at my command.

With a growl of annoyance, I finally give in and stand beside her, watching her work with a mix of fascination and amusement. Unable to resist, I wrap my arms around her from behind, planting kisses along her neck and biting gently.

She chuckles, squirming slightly in my embrace. “You know, I could still hold a grudge against you for throwing me off that dragon, the beast in the woods, and kidnapping me,” she teases, turning to face me.

I raise an eyebrow, feigning innocence. “And yet here we are.”

A mischievous glint sparkles in her eyes as she dips her finger into a bowl of flour and starts drawing patterns on my face. I let her, enjoying the feel of her touch and the sound of her laughter.

She bites her lip in concentration, and I admire the way her nose wrinkles when she focuses intently on a task.

How a human could be so perfect?

I always thought of them as spineless scarred little creatures. The memory of my forced assignment as the God of Nightmares comes to my mind feeling my smile disappear from my lips

I never got the chance to choose my path like other gods. It was thrust upon me by the king of gods himself, simply because my father held the title before me. It is he who assigns the titles and domains to the newly ascended gods, ensuring the balance and order of our world.

Morphea and I had always dreamed of swapping roles; I longed for the Reveries realm, while she coveted Nightmares.

But fate had other plans.

Now, I find myself in a realm I never wanted, tasked with casting terror that plagues humanity with their fears. However, I've tried to twist my role into something less sinister, aiming to aid rather than torment.

Yet, Aurora... She's a puzzle. Beneath her gentle exterior lies a strength I've rarely encountered. Her resilience is undeniable, and it draws me in.

The gods are beings of immense power, each ruling over their domain within the vast expanse of the Godsland. Each god possesses unique abilities and responsibilities that can’t be exchanged with others when assigned.

I wish it was different.

Aurora's spontaneous kiss pulls me out of my thoughts, her lips brushing against mine briefly before she speaks. “Finish,” she says with a proudness.

Intrigued by her words, I conjure a mirror into my hands and gaze into it. Aurora chuckles beside me as I examine my face.

I look at my reflection, feeling surprise at the sight before me. Little hearts and butterflies adorn my features, and a big smile has been drawn across my face.

Aurora bursts into laughter beside me, the sound echoing through the room. A sigh escapes my lips. “What have you done?” I ask, unable to hide the hint of entertainment in my voice.
